In 1886, munitions workers at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich founded the club as Dial Square. In 1913 the club crossed the city to Arsenal Stadium in Highbury, becoming close neighbours of Tottenham Hotspur. And another move has been announced in 1999. It’s hard to overstate the sheer magnitude of the project which took Arsenal from its home of 93 years to a state-of-the-art venue, Emirates stadium, just down the road in 2006. The Club not only constructed a stadium, it regenerated the local community.
